The fact that each beverage has its own particular glass, wine in a wine glass, vodka in a vodka glass or beer in a beer glass, isn't just about the way you serve it. It's actually designed so that each contains the same amount of alcohol, namely 1 unit. It's the equivalent of the standard quantity served in bars and restaurants, which is 10 grams of pure alcohol.
So a glass of beer and a glass of vodka contain the same amount of alcohol. And that's useful to know to help control your consumption!
